I am one of the those geeky people who loved school. I always joked if I could get paid to go to school I would still be there! So I love it when I get to go to continuing education events. I recently had the chance to attend an ultrasound course in New York. I have used ultrasound since I graduated vet school, first as an equine vet and now as a small animal vet.
The course in New York was put on by Universal Ultrasound and was an amazing opportunity to get hands on training with the experts. We spent two days in a combination of lectures and practicing our ultrasound skills. Unfortunately, at CE events we often sit in a classroom all day listening to people speak. So it was really nice to have lots of time to actually get hands on experience and training.
I am really excited that I was able to squeeze a nice used ultrasound into my budget. So at Southern Animal Hospital we will be offering ultrasound as a service. Gives us another tool in our kit to help your pets. We use ultrasound to look at organs in the abdomen, unusual swellings, the lungs, heart, and many other things.
I am continually looking for ways to expand my knowledge, so this was another great opportunity.
